Yukon has a highly educated and engaged workforce. With Yukon College providing valuable skill development, training and university-level courses combined with a supportive Advanced Education branch within the Department of Education, 50 per cent of Yukon’s adult population have undertaken some form of post-secondary education. In addition, Yukon has a high rate of high school completion and one of the highest university degrees per capita ratios in Canada. Numerous opportunities and challenges have made the Yukon workforce highly motivated, intelligent, and entrepreneurial.

Yukon’s labour force is robust – 76 per cent of Yukon’s working-age population is active in the labour force – and young with more than 60 per cent of its working-age population younger than age 45.
